The Austrian riding is superb due to the amount of fresh snow that fell at the start of the weekend.
The Grande Motte glacier at Tignes in France had 20cm of fresh snow on Saturday. As a result, the riding is great for this time of year.
The glacier at Val Senales in Italy has a good snow base which benefited from 10cm of fresh snow falling over the weekend.
Both Zermatt and Saas Fee in Switzerland received fresh snow over the weekend.
The summer ski season has ended on the Blackcomb glacier at Whistler in Canada.
Timberline in America is now operating their autumn skiing schedule and the lifts are only open for skiing over the weekend.
The Australian resorts have now all closed for the 2008 season.
Spring conditions dominate at the open resorts in New Zealand.
Portillo is the only resort that we report in Chile that is still open.
Good spring conditions can be skied on the upper pistes across the open Argentinean resorts that we report on.

Austria | | |
Fresh snow has fallen at all of our reported Austrian summer skiing destinations and the riding is superb on Monday.
Hintertux (105cm) has recieved 50cm of fresh snow since Friday and the conditions are brilliant. It is a similar story across the other Austrian summer resorts that we report on. The Stubai Glacier (60cm) has the most skiing available with 33km of pistes open.

The Grande Motte glacier at Tignes has reopened for skiing and boarding. The fine weather of the last few days is expected to continue over the weekend as well, with perhaps a dusting of snow at Tignes (15cm) on Friday.
At Les Deux Alpes the winter season starts on 29th November, although there is an earlier opening for the All Saints holiday between 25th October and 2nd November.
The winter season is scheduled to start at Val d'Isere from 29th November

Switzerland

Saas Fee (154cm) had 10cm of fresh snow on Saturday which hasn't done much to improve snow conditions as it is still reported to be hard. Fine weather is forecast for the rest of the week.
Zermatt (90cm) also received some light snowfall this weekend.

Italy | | |
The glacier at Val Senales (50cm) saw 15cm of new snow fall on Friday. The sunny weather forecast for the week ahead means great summer riding!
Cervinia is planning to open on 31st October and Presena on 1st November

North America | | |
The summer ski season in Whistler is over. The resort opens for the winter season on 27th November.
Timberline (150cm) in America is closed for skiing during the week but the lifts are scheduled to operate from Friday to Sunday between 8am and 2pm during the autumn ski season. Rain/snow is possible throughout the week.

The winter season has finished in Australia as Mount Buller, Mount Baw Baw, Perisher Blue and Thredbo closed over the weekend.

| New Zealand

Spring conditions dominate at the open resorts in New Zealand although there is a chance of lower temperatures and possible snowfalls on Tuesday and into Wednesday.
On the South Island Mount Hutt (220/230cm) reports the deepest snow base, providing excellent riding on and off the trails.
Coronet Peak, Mount Dobson, Porter Heights and Treble Cone are now closed for the season.
The snow cover is soft by mid-morning at Turoa (475cm) and Whakapapa (320cm) on the North Island, although the snow on the upper mountain areas remains pretty firm on the sheltered slopes.

Of the Chilean resorts that we report on, Portillo (195/262cm) is now the only one still open. Conditions there are great and the strong sun quickly softens up the snow.
Sunday 5th October was the last day of the season at Valle Nevado.
La Parva, Chapa Verde, El Colorado, Termas de Chillan are closed for the 2008 season.

Cerro Catedral (0/125cm) and Chapelco (0/240cm) are open with spring conditions across both areas. There is a chance of some precipitation on Monday at Cerro Catedral but it is likely to fall as rain due to the mild weather. Chapelco is also cloudy however no rain is forecast. The weather is expected to brighten up from Tuesday onwards.
Las Lenas is closed for the season.
